After some fabulous, sell-out G & S Cruises, we have been lucky enough to secure another for 2027. Cruise the Nile with Theatrical Adventure Cruises is further afield and something that is a first for Cultural Breaks, but an opportunity we did not want to miss. A Theatrical Adventure cruise promises to be more than just a cruise; more an experience to remember! These trips are about far more than simply travelling from one destination to another; they are an opportunity to discover fascinating places, enjoy exceptional company and experience wonderful entertainment along the way. This delightful opportunity will be an ‘extra steps’ trip due to the uneven/sandy surfaces in the ancient temples on the excursions. Whilst this cruise includes tours on most days, there is no obligation to do every one and the option to stay on board and use the facilities is available.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Monday 27th September (LUXOR)

Your door-to-door driver will escort you to the meeting point at a London based airport. The Tour Manager will assist you with check-in and VIP fast track service. Check-in complete, there will be time to purchase refreshments before boarding. On arrival in Luxor, we will transfer from the airport to the dock for embarkation. After settling in to your cabin, we join fellow guests for dinner and the first evening of entertainment.

Day 2 – Tuesday 28th September (LUXOR)

After breakfast onboard, we will explore Luxor’s West Bank with our guide. We will visit the Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs were laid to rest in richly decorated tombs, including the famous tomb of Tutankhamun. Visit the striking Temple of Hatshepsut, built into the cliffs for Egypt’s celebrated female pharaoh, before stopping at the towering Colossi of Memnon, two monumental statues that have guarded the Theban necropolis for centuries. Return aboard for lunch before setting sail towards Esna. Dinner and evening entertainment provide a relaxing end to a fascinating day.

Day 3 – Wednesday 29th September (EDFU)

Following breakfast, we begin the day with a visit to the magnificent Temple of Horus at Edfu, one of Egypt’s best-preserved ancient temples and dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus. Back onboard, relax as we cruise through the beautiful Nile landscape, passing the ancient sandstone quarries of Gebel el-Silsila, once an important source of stone for Egypt’s temples and monuments. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon with lunch on board and free time at leisure. Our dinner will be followed by our guides hosting the ‘Egyptian Galabia Party’. We dock at Kom Ombo for the night, ready for tomorrow’s discoveries.

Day 4 – Thursday 30th September (ASWAN)

Today we discover the enchanting Philae Temple Complex, dedicated to the goddess Isis and beautifully set on an island in the Nile. The temples were carefully relocated stone by stone to their present home following the construction of the Aswan High Dam, itself an impressive feat of modern engineering. Later, experience the Nile from a different perspective as we board traditional local boats and weave between Aswan’s granite islands, passing the lush landscapes around Elephantine Island. Returning to the ship, enjoy a relaxing evening and dinner as we reflect on another memorable day in southern Egypt.

Day 5 - Friday 1st October (ASWAN)

Enjoy a relaxed morning in Aswan with an opportunity to explore the local area independently and at your own pace. You may use the time to visit the Nubian Museum, browse the colourful souk, or take in the Nile views from the historic Old Cataract Hotel. Alternatively, you may choose to stay on board and take a day for proper relaxation on the spacious sun-deck with swimming pool and loungers. All meals will be onboard and we will stay docked in Aswan overnight.

Day 6 - Saturday 2nd October (KOM OMBO)

This morning, we sail to Kom Ombo where we will enjoy a guided visit to its remarkable riverside temple, uniquely dedicated to two Gods: Sobek, the crocodile-headed God of fertility, and Horus the Elder, the falcon-headed God of the sky. Explore its fascinating reliefs, ancient inscriptions and unusual double design before returning to the ship. We will sail throughout the afternoon on the journey back towards Luxor. Spend the afternoon relaxing on deck and watching the timeless scenery of palm-fringed banks, villages and fertile fields drift gently by.

Day 7 - Sunday 3rd October (LUXOR)

Today we explore Luxor’s East Bank, beginning at the awe-inspiring Karnak Temple Complex. Built and expanded over more than 1,500 years, its vast columns, towering obelisks and sacred precincts offer a remarkable glimpse into the power and beliefs of ancient Egypt. We then continue to Luxor Temple, an atmospheric riverside monument whose grand avenues and statues reflect the splendour of the pharaohs. After our final guided tour, return to the ship and enjoy a special farewell concert this evening, bringing our unforgettable journey along the Nile to a memorable close.

Day 8 - Monday 4th October (LUXOR)

After breakfast, your Tour Manager will take care of everything at check-out and ensure your luggage is at reception in time to disembark. We say ‘farewell’ to the Mazaj Tulip and theTheatrical Adventures team and will transfer to the airport. There will be an opportunity to purchase refreshments.
