Few places capture the essence of coastal England quite like Cornwall — a region defined by its rugged beauty, rich history, and warm hospitality. From windswept moors and picturesque fishing villages to secluded coves and golden beaches, Cornwall offers an ever-changing landscape that invites exploration and quiet reflection in equal measure.

On the county’s south coast lies Falmouth, a town steeped in maritime heritage and contemporary charm. Overlooking one of the world’s deepest natural harbours, Falmouth has long been a haven for sailors, artists, and those seeking a gentler pace of life. Its vibrant waterfront is lined with independent shops, galleries, and inviting cafés, while elegant gardens and scenic coastal walks provide peaceful moments amid the sea air. Falmouth offers an experience that is both enriching and restorative, with its blend of culture, comfort, and coastal beauty, this is Cornwall at its most graceful — the perfect destination to unwind, indulge, and be inspired.

The Greenbank Hotel   ★ ★ ★ ★

We will be staying in 4 star accommodation at The Greenbank Hotel, set in the heart of Falmouth with uninterrupted water views. The Greenbank Hotel has been perched overlooking the Carrick Roads for almost four centuries, making it one of the most historic places in Falmouth to stay. The hotel has witnessed truly remarkable moments in Cornish history, sitting proudly in the heart of the maritime town. Each room features: En- suite bathroom, Cornish organic ‘Bloom’ toiletries, bathrobes and slippers, TV and tea and coffee making facilities.

💡  Did you know ?

In 1907, The Greenbank welcomed one of its most famous guests to stay? During the final few years of her life at age 87, Florence Nightingale checked in and stayed at the hotel. Visitors today can find her name handwritten in the guest book, currently on display in the reception.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Tuesday 5th May 2026

Arriving by door-to-door car at the Crown Plaza, Gerrards Cross, you will be greeted by your tour manager who will be with you throughout the holiday. Coffee or tea with pastries will be served before we board the coach. Lunch will be served at The Fisherman’s Cot, Tiverton, before we continue to The Greenbank Hotel in Falmouth, where we can relax, settle in and enjoy our beautiful surroundings.

Day 2 - Wednesday 6th May 2026

After breakfast we will depart for Trebah Gardens where we will have a guided walking tour along footpaths that wind through dazzling exotic planting, transporting you from a little corner of England to sunnier climes. Stumble upon the private beach and the countless secret corners waiting to be discovered in the garden. Following a light lunch served within the gardens, we will board the coach for The National Maritime Museum. A guided tour will broaden our historical knowledge of the sea, boats and Cornwall.

Day 3 – Thursday 7th May 2026

Following a relaxed breakfast, we will take a short stroll to the Falmouth Art Gallery, with one of the leading art collections in Cornwall and southwest England. Featuring work by old masters, major Victorian artists and British and French Impressionists. Lunch will be taken at the award - winning Harbour Lights fish & chip restaurant. An afternoon at leisure will give you the opportunity to peruse the local gift shops, boutiques, cafes and promenade.

Day 4 – Friday 8th May 2026

A true culinary experience awaits! We will be boarding the coach after breakfast to The Philleigh Way Cookery School in Truro, on a working farm, where we are privileged to be having a private demonstration and cookery lesson by the owner, Rupert Cooper. Learn to make a traditional Cornish pasty, which we will be having for lunch later in the day and be treated to a cream tea while your wares bake in the oven. In the afternoon, we will board the coach to the picturesque St.Mawes, where we will have time at leisure to wander the pretty streets or simply sit in the harbour and watch the world go by. An ideal spot to eat that pasty!!

Day 5 – Saturday 9th May 2026

Prepare for an exciting day at The Eden Project, home to the world's largest indoor rainforest. Eden's tropical biome houses an incredible selection of plants that make up the largest indoor rainforest in the world! Take in the sights and smells of the Mediterranean Biome, and explore the huge outdoor gardens, at your own pace. We will meet for lunch at one of the many cafes within the project.

Day 6 – Sunday 10th May 2026

Our unique day starts with a private walking tour. The tour plunges you back through the centuries to uncover Falmouth's unique story, rich with pirates, adventurers and cannibals. We will then board the coach to a beautiful lunch location. Nestled in the cliffs at Riviere Towans, the Cove Café is a tranquil spot to enjoy fresh food from Cornish producers with an iconic view.

Day 7 – Monday 11th May 2026

Today may be our departure day but there are still experiences to be had. After breakfast, your tour manger will assist with check-out before we board the coach to The Jamaica Inn. Sitting bravely on Bodmin Moor, the iconic Jamaica Inn still exudes its legendary charm. This Grade IIlisted coaching inn, dating from the 1750s, also has a smuggling museum and remains a theatrical portal to Cornwall’s smuggling past. We will continue our journey to the Castle Hotel in Taunton for our two- course farewell lunch, before we board the coach for the last leg of our journey home to The Crowne Plaza, Gerrards Cross. Tea, coffee and cake will be awaiting our return before meeting our chauffer driven cars. What a trip this is set to be!
